Fabio Quartararo wins the 2020 Andalucia MotoGP Grand Prix

Fabio Quartararo of Petronas Yamaha led from start to finish in the scorching heat of Jerez to win an incident-packed Andalusian Grand Prix at Jerez MotoGP. Frenchman Quartararo, who also won the season-opening Spanish Grand Prix last weekend, cruised to victory from pole position while factory Yamaha duo of Spaniard Maverick Vinales and former champion Valentino Rossi finished second and third.

The extreme heat caused a high rate of attrition through accidents and mechanical issues, though Petronas Yamaha rider Quartararo avoided all of that to ease to his second-successive win to seize command in the 2020 MotoGP championship.

“That one was tough,” Quartararo said after a race in which eight riders crashed or retired due to technical problems. “What an amazing feeling, it feels so good to make back-to-back wins. Strange conditions today, but I think it was one of the hardest races of my life.”

Victory moved Quartararo to 50 points in the world championship standings, 10 points ahead of Vinales. Vinales clinched runners-up spot after an overtake on the penultimate lap and 41-year-old Italian Rossi took a podium place for the 199th time in his premier class career and first since the Grand Prix of the Americas last year.

Fabio Quartararo wins the 2020 Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix

Petronas Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo won his first ever MotoGP race as he took the chequered flag in an incident-packed race at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez on Sunday as MotoGP got its season underway amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Six-time Defending MotoGP champion Marc Marquez of Honda made two mistakes in the race, Márquez crashed hard with four laps to go and had to be carried off the track on a stretcher with an apparent arm injury. He started third but had to come from behind after losing control of his bike and avoiding an earlier crash that put him back in the pack at the beginning of the race.

Frenchman Quartararo's victory was also the first for Petronas Yamaha as he finished ahead of Yamaha's Maverick Vinales in second, while Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso finished third.

The MotoGP season was set to start in March in Qatar but only Moto 2 and Moto 3 were ran as the coronavirus outbreak struck.

The race in Spain was held without fans and under strict health controls.

Marc Marquez wins the 2019 Valenciana MotoGP Grand Prix

Repsol Honda Team are 2019 triple crown Champions after Marc Marquez claimed victory number 12 of the season at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana, with Jorge Lorenzo scoring points in his final MotoG ride to help Honda win the Teams Championship. pole sitter Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) completed the final podium of the 2019 season.



Starting from second on the front row, Marquez didn’t enjoy the best of starts and found himself down in fifth place through the first checkpoint. However, it wasn’t long before Marquez did what he seems to do better than anybody else.

Fabio Quartararo led the race in beginning, but finished 2nd place. He has secured the MotoGP Independent riders’ title along with his top rookie honour in 2019. 3rd place was Jack Miller (Pramac Ducati), who took his 5th podium of 2019.
Jorge Lorenzo (Repsol Honda) ended his career in MotoGP with his best result since June's Italian GP in 13th.

Marc Marquez said, “It was my best season of my career and I don’t know if it will be my best season in all of my career but obviously the numbers, the statistics speak. We showed our potential this year and it was a perfect season as it was so difficult to improve on.
We finished in the best way by winning the race in Valencia but especially taking the teams’ championship because all the Repsol Honda team deserves it.

It is a way to say goodbye to Jorge because in the end the Jorge I have in mind and for everybody is the Jorge that is a five-time world champion and in the end we will celebrate something together tonight and this will make me happy.”
On his final-ever MotoGP ride, five-time World Champion and future MotoGP™ Legend Jorge Lorenzo finished P13. It was an emotional day for the Spaniard who arrived back into pitlane to rapturous applause, with the Valencia fans paying their full respects to one of the sport’s greatest ever riders on his cool-down lap. #ThankYouJorge!

Maverick Vinales wins the 2019 Malaysian Grand Prix

Yamaha rider Maverick Vinales staved off MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez's spectacular charge to win the Malaysian Grand Prix for his second win of the 2019 season at the Sepang International Circuit.



A week after crashing out in the final lap at Phillip Island to allow Marquez to win the season's penultimate race in Australia, Vinales made sure there was no repeat of the heartbreak.
It was Vinales’ second win of the season following his Dutch TT breakthrough in June – and it came following a manic first lap, where Marquez bolted to fifth from a lowly 11th on the grid following his qualifying disaster.

The 24-year-old built an early lead and then put on a near-flawless race to stay clear of fellow Spaniard Marquez, who finished second after beginning 11th, Andrea Dovizioso completed the podium, finishing three-tenths of a second in front of Valentino Rossi in fourth.


"I felt I had a big potential just passing the first lap," Vinales said afterwards.
"I took the lead in the first...and kept pushing, pushing, pushing. I'm so happy, the team did a great job."

Marc Marquez wins the 2019 Japanese Grand Prix

MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez won the Japan Grand Prix to notch his tenth victory of the season and earn Honda its fourth manufacturers' title running at their home Motegi circuit.


The Spaniard ran the race in 42min 41.492sec, followed 0.870sec later by French rookie Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha-SRT and Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso 1.325sec later.


Marquez pole-to-flag ride was unassailable from the second lap in his first ever pole start at the Motegi Twin Circuit, with dry conditions after bucketing rains during practice sessions on Friday and Saturday.

Quartararo managed to edge in front for a brief moment shortly after the start, but Marquez quickly regained the lead and shot ahead with a one-second gap early in the Japanese race.



"It was not easy. I was pushing from the beginning because our strategy was clear," Marquez said.

"This time I tried to open the gap from the beginning because I felt very strong in the warm up."

He said he lost focus during the race when he realized his bike was burning through fuel too quickly, forcing him to "play a lot with switches".



Marquez had already secured his season victory by winning the Thailand Grand Prix earlier this month.

His victory at Motegi also secured Honda's 25th constructors' championship overall and its fourth on the trot, coming as the company celebrates 60 years in motorcycle racing.

Marc Marquez has won his sixth MotoGP world title - and his fourth in a row.


Honda’s Marc Marquez sealed his fourth consecutive MotoGP title with four races to spare after winning the 2019 Thai Grand Prix on Sunday after a thrilling duel with French rookie Fabio Quartararo. The Spaniard had to score two points more than Italian Ducati rival Andrea Dovizioso, who finished a distant fourth at Buriram’s Chang International Circuit.



The 26-year-old, who was taken to hospital after a crash in practice at Chang circuit in Buriram, sealed his latest crown with four races to spare.

The Spaniard had to win at least two points more than closest rival Andrea Dovizioso - and did so as the Italian finished fourth.
Fabio Quartararo was second, with Maverick Vinales in third.


Marquez was still able to retake the lead for his 53rd MotoGP race win.
"I was planning the weekend to win the race and not think about the championship," said Marquez.
"My target was to find the best way to win the race, and that's what I did.

"Amazing year. All the team did an amazing job. Now it's time to enjoy and celebrate the title."



The title was the sixth Moto GP title of Marquez’s grand prix career, with the 26-year-old becoming the youngest rider to achieve the feat. It was the eighth career title overall – he was 125cc (now Moto3) world champion in 2010 and Moto2 winner in 2012.

Marc Marquez wins the 2019 Grand Prix of Aragon

Marc Marquez moved closer to a sixth MotoGP world title after securing a dominant victory at the Aragon Grand Prix from pole position.

The Spaniard led from start to finish as a fierce podium battle raged behind, with Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and Jack Miller (Pramac Racing) completing the rostrum.


The Honda Spain's rider, making his 200th grand prix start, nailed his launch off the line and was already a second clear of the field by the end of the first lap, with no one offering up even a hint of a challenge to his imperious pace.


The 26-year-old Honda rider can clinch the championship with victory at the Thailand Grand Prix on 6 October.

Reigning champion Marquez is 98 points clear of Italy's Andrea Dovizioso in the standings.



"I was sure I had the right strategy to push from the start and keep the gap, it looked easy but it was hard because Dovizioso never gives up," he said.

MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez won the 2019 San Marino Grand Prix in a thrilling race that culminated in final-lap battle with France's Fabio Quartararo.

The seven-time Spanish World Champion Marquez went head-to-head with Petronas Yamaha SRT’s Fabio Quartararo, with the battle for the win going down to the last lap. Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) completed the podium, 1.6 back from Marquez at Misano.
The MotoGP championship leader ultimately prevailed to move to 77 wins across all classes, the fourth most of all time.


"Really nice to win here in Italy, but even nicer to have a 93-point lead in the championship," the Spaniard MotoGP world champion said.



Marquez, 26, has 275 points heading into next week's Aragon Grand Prix, with Andrea Dovizioso second on 182 and Danilo Petrucci third on 151.

Álex Rins wins the 2019 British MotoGP Grand Prix

Suzuki's Alex Rins passed MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez at the final corner to win a thrilling British Grand Prix.


After trying a move around the outside of Woodcote corner on the penultimate lap of the British race, Rins then lunged through on the inside to edge Marquez to the chequered flag by 0.013 seconds.
While Andrea Dovizioso crashed out in a major accident at the beginning of the BritishGP.

It was Suzuki's second win in three attempts, following Maverick Vinales's victory at Silverstone three years ago.

Vinales was third on a Yamaha after finishing 0.6 seconds behind the lead pair, while his team mate Valentino Rossi took fourth spot on Sunday.

Andrea Dovizioso won the 2019 Austrian MotoGP Grand Prix

Andrea Dovizioso passed MotoGP champion Marc Marquez at the last corner after a thrilling battle to win the Austrian Grand Prix for Ducati on Sunday and trim the Spaniard's overall lead to 58 points.



The duo pulled away from the rest of the field throughout the race at Spielberg's Red Bull Ring, with the Italian making a seemingly decisive move with nine laps to go after running in the Spaniard's slipstream.


Repsol Honda's Marquez, starting from a record 59th MotoGP pole, went back in front with three laps remaining but Dovizioso muscled through at the last corner on Turn 10, of the race and made the move stick to taking a memorable win.

French rider Fabio Quartararo, who led the first four laps, was third a had his Petronas Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi.

Marc Marquez wins the 2019 Czech Republic Grand Prix

Honda's world champion Marc Marquez won the rain-affected Czech MotoGP in Brno, his sixth victory of the season, and became only the fourth rider to achieve 50 premier-class victories.


A surprise rain shower an hour before the start left the final corner, home straight and first turn soaking wet, but the rest of the circuit bone dry. The outcome was to postpone the start by 35mins.

Damp patches remained when the race got underway, on slicks, with Marquez, Dovizioso, Rins and Miller soon forming a breakaway lead group.
Marquez put the hammer down with 9 laps to go, pulling clear of the Italian.

Marquez, who equalled Australian Mick Doohan's record of 58 top-class pole positions on Saturday, finished ahead of Ducati's Italian Andrea Dovizioso and Jack Miller of the non-works Pramac Ducati team.

The other three riders to achieve at least 50 premier-class wins are Valentino Rossi (89), Giacomo Agostini (68) and Mick Doohan (54).


"It's important but I don't like to compare, they are legends of this sport," Marquez told after the race when he was informed of his milestone. "I'm just going to keep pushing... keep the same mentality, same ambition from the beginning until the end."


Spaniard Marquez now leads the MotoGP championship with 210 points, 63 ahead of second-placed Dovizioso (147) while Danilo Petrucci, who finished eighth in Brno, is third (129).

Marquez has 185 points after nine of 19 races with Italian Andrea Dovizioso his closest rival on 127 after finishing fifth for Ducati.
Marquez has stretched his lead at the top of the MotoGP championship to 58 points.

Maverick Viñales wins the 2019 Grand Prix of the Netherlands

Maverick Vinales won the Dutch TT at Assen for Yamaha’s first win of the year while Honda’s world champion Marc Marquez finished second to extend his MotoGP lead to 44 points.


While the Spaniard Maverick Vinales won on his Yamaha in hot, dry conditions in the northern Dutch city, While Marquez extended his lead at the top of the season standings over second-placed Andrea Dovizioso, who finished fourth.


French rookie Fabio Quartararo, who started on pole position for the second race in a row, finished third for the Petronas Yamaha team.


Marquez now has 160 points to 116 for Italian Andrea Dovizioso, who finished fourth for Ducati, after eight of 19 races of the 2019 MotoGP season.

Marc Marquez won the 2019 MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix

MotoGP championship leader Marc Marquez dominated the Catalan Grand Prix at Barcelona, after he capitalised on a crash that took out four of his rivals to win at the Catalunya circuit and extend his MotoGP title lead.



Lorenzo, who had charged from 10th on the grid to join the lead battle, fell at the sharp Turn 10 left-hander while trying to pass Maverick Vinales, taking down his compatriot, as well as Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi in the process.

Fabio Quartararo, who started on pole position, finished in second place, with Danilo Petrucci in third.

The win on home turf moved Marquez 37 points clear of Dovizioso in the overall MotoGP standings.

Danilo Petrucci wins the 2019 MotoGP Italian Grand Prix

Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci wins his first Ever MotoGP race and he does it on home turf at Mugello after edging out Marc Marquez at the last curves of a thrilling Italian Grand Prix.



Petrucci held on in a tense showdown, beating Honda rider Marquez by only 0.043 seconds on the drag to the finish line, with Andrea Dovizioso making it two Ducatis on the podium in third in the ItalianGP.

It marked the first win on his 125th start in the premier class for 28-year-old Italian Danilo Petrucci.

Valentino Rossi suffered an even worse race on home soil on the factory Yamaha.
Rossi was running 15th when he got tangled up with Joan Mir's Suzuki, both riders running across the gravel, and was down to 21st and last when he crashed at Poggio Secco on lap eight in the Italian race.

Marquez, who had won three of the previous four races on his Honda, extended his lead in the MotoGP standings to 12 points over Dovizioso.

Marc Marquez wins tha 2019 French Grand Prix

Honda’s world champion Marc Marquez won the French Grand Prix at Le Mans for his third victory in the last four races to extend his lead at the top of the MotoGP standings.


The 26-year-old, who started in pole position, cruised to victory in 41 minutes, 53.647 seconds to reach 95 points for the season ahead of Andrea Dovizioso and Alex Rins.

Marquez, fought off the Ducatis of Danilo Petrucci and Jack Miller early on before assuming full control of the race and cruising to his second successive Le Mans win and Honda's 300th across MotoGP and its 500cc predecessor.

Marquez was pleased with his consistent performance after equalling team mate Jorge Lorenzo’s premier class win tally of 47, the joint-fourth highest. “In Le Mans it’s always difficult especially with the temperature. I think it was my first race with the soft tyre in the front but it was the safer option and I was trying to be consistent on the laps,” Marquez said. “I’m happy because normally on this track Ducati and Yamaha are very fast but we were there. This is good news for us.” Marquez and Jack Miller were involved in an early battle and the Australian surged ahead on the fifth lap, but the champion regained the lead two laps later and pulled away from the chasing pack to secure the victory.

Marc Marquez won the 2019 Spanish Grand Prix

Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez dominated the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, ahead of compatriots Alex Rins of Suzuki and Maverick Vinales of Yamaha. Marquez became the first repeat winner of the 2019 campaign.


Marquez led from start to finish and went top of the MotoGP world standings with his victory after a fall last time out in the United States


Marquez of Honda grabbed the lead off the line and swiftly escaped from the chasing pack, his job made easier when rookie Fabio Quartararo – who had succeeded him as MotoGP's youngest-ever poleman on Sunday – retired out of second place with a mechanical issue.

Having locked out the top two in qualifying, the Petronas Yamaha riders were immediately passed by Marquez off the line – and looked set to drop behind Andrea Dovizioso too.

"It was tougher mentally than physically," said Marquez, known for his flat-out approach that he struggles to contain when ordered to restrain his rider wilder instincts.


Having won two of the four GPs so far this season he tops the early running in the world championship standings with 70 points, one more than Alex Rins on 69 while Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso is third on 67 and the veteran Italian Valentino Rossi sits fourth on 61.

Alex Rins wins the MotoGP 2019 Grand Prix of the Americas

Spain's Alex Rins swept to victory in the Grand Prix of the Americas, claiming his first career MotoGP win after compatriot Marc World ChampionshipMarquez crashed out of contention.




(Team Suzuki Ecstar) rider Rins held off a ferocious challenge from Italy's Valentino Rossi over the closing stages to take the chequered flag at Austin's Circuit of the Americas in Texas.

Australia's Jack Miller on a Ducati finished third.

"I am so happy I don't have words to describe how I feel. When I crossed the finish line my emotions exploded," the 23-year-old Suzuki rider Alex Rins said afterwards.


Rins becoming the first man to win in Texas in all three categories. He won the Moto3 race in Austin in 2013 and the Moto2 event at the circuit in 2016.

Alex Rins' a first time premier class winner brought Honda rider Marquez's long reign of dominance in Austin to an end.



Grand Prix of the Americas produced a stunner: the King of COTA Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) lost his crown.

Marquez, who started on pole, had scored six consecutive victories in the Texan city heading into this weekend's event, the third leg of the 2019 MotoGP World Championship. Unfortunately his challenge ended when he crashed on the 12th lap.

World champion Marc Marquez won the Argentina MotoGP Honda rider Marquez claimed his 45th career victory in the elite class, finishing 10 seconds ahead of Rossi on a Yamaha.

Andrea Dovizioso, who won the season-opener in Qatar, was third on a Ducati.

Marquez, chasing a sixth MotoGP world title, now leads the 2019 championship after two rounds of the 19-race series.
Honda rider Marquez made the perfect launch from pole position to make a break at the start, opening up a one-second lead over a similarly fast-starting Valentino Rossi on the opening tour.

The reigning champion then began to set a fearsome pace that none of his rivals could match.
As Marquez was rarely threatened in Sunday’s race, the wheel-to-wheel action was being ratcheted up behind him as Rossi and Dovizioso switched places 12 times.

But 40-year-old Rossi had the last laugh, pouncing on a Dovizioso error on the last lap to take second place on the same circuit where 12 months ago he had collided with Marquez and crashed out at Termas de Rio Hondo circuit.

Andrea Dovizioso wins the 2019 MotoGP Grand Prix of Qatar

Andrea Dovizioso won the first MotoGP race of the 2019 season on Sunday, as he took the chequered flag ahead of defending world champion Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow on Sunday at the Qatar Grand Prix.

The Italian Ducati rider led for the majority of the 22 laps in an exciting race under the floodlights at the Losail International Circuit.

A tightly contested season opener saw five riders in contention for the win heading into the final lap, with Dovizioso and Marquez tussling for victory and the Italian just coming out on top of the 2019 MotoGP season opening race.

Elsewhere on track, there were contrasting fortunes for polesitter Maverick Vinales and the man who qualified down in 14th, Valentino Rossi.

Vinales sank like a stone from the front row early on in the race, only managing P7, while Rossi claimed P5.
