Kansas City Chiefs wins the Super Bowl 2020

Kansas City Chiefs made history on Sunday by winning the Super Bowl for the first time since 1970. San Francisco 49ers was beaten 31-20 in Miami. 


All it took was falling behind by double digits in the postseason again. Then Mahomes, selected MVP, hit two long passes on touchdown drives for a 31-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, of the 54th edition of the American football final of the NFL Super Bowl 54.

The win at Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium was the Chiefs’ first in 50 years and denied the 49ers the chance to win their sixth Super Bowl trophy and first since 1995.

Norbert Michelisz wins the 2019 FIA WTCR World Touring Car Cup

The Hungarian Norbert Michelisz is the new King of the WTCR after the 2019 season ended with a thrilling super-finale at the inaugural Races of Malaysia, which featured dramatic action.


Driving a BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse-run i30 N TCR, the 35 years old Hungarian Michelisz who celebrated most on four after his title win on the back of a Race 1 victory and points finishes in races two and three, which were won by Esteban Guerrieri and Johan Kristoffersson respectively.

Guerrieri charged through from ninth to first on the opening lap of Race 2 to keep his title hopes alive by cutting Michelisz’s advantage to 10 points with one race left,
Over the opening laps, the destiny of the title swung between Guerrieri and Michelisz almost by the corner, only for the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda to lose power with a suspected blocked radiator after contact with Azcona forced a trip across the grass in the slippery conditions.


How the title battle unfolded in thrilling Race 3
From the beginning, the two title protagonists were locked in a duel as they started from the front row of the grid. Michelisz, on the DHL Pole Position, just lost out at Turn 1 as Guerrieri swept around the outside line, pulling PWR Racing’s Mikel Azcona with him into second as the evening drama played out on a wet track under floodlights.

Racing resumed on lap five as the top four put on an unforgettable spectacle. The key moment was a duel between Guerrieri and Azcona, who tapped the Argentinian. The contact forced the Honda to briefly take to the grass – then Guerrieri reported he was “losing power”. Heartbreakingly, he dropped down the order, only to set the fastest lap of the race Guerrieri’s loss meant Michelisz was safe to claim his WTCR / OSCARO world crown for Hyundai Motorsport.

“First of all, I would honestly like to congratulate Esteban because his performances in Race 2 and Race 3 today were unbelievably strong,” said BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse driver Michelisz. “It was a very tough fight, we were going flat out. He had some technical issues and so did I. Before Race 3 it looked like I wouldn’t even start the race. But in the end with the car working at 90 per cent I managed to do the start – and in the end it’s unbelievable. It’s just a huge relief after a long season. We didn’t start off very good, but the second part of the season made up for that. Taking the championship is something I’ve been hoping for a couple of years now.”



Before the weekend’s finale, Michelisz had previously registered first place victories at four consecutive events. The first came at Nurburgring, Germany, in June, which was then backed by a further success at Vila Real, Portugal, in July, after taking pole position.

The break between events did not hinder the progress as he claimed another top spot on the podium in Ningbo, China, before claiming another first place in one of the three races held at Suzuka, Japan.

South Africa won the 2019 Rugby World Cup

South Africa have won their third Rugby World Cup, a huge defensive effort setting up a 32-12 victory over England with a ruthless display of power rugby to seize their third Rugby World Cup in devastating fashion in Yokohama.



The Springboks' victory was built on a colossal display by their powerhouse pack that allowed fly-half Handre Pollard to kick six penalties before Makazole Mapimpi's 66th-minute try -- the first the  South Africa had scored in a World Cup final -- and another from fit-again fellow flyer Cheslin Kolbe put the result beyond doubt.

England had trailed 12-6 at the interval after taking a hammering in the scrum and making a series of handling errors.

And despite four penalties from captain Owen Farrell they never looked like closing that gap as the Springboks produced an outstanding display to match those of 1995 in Johannesburg and 2007 in Paris Rugby World Cup.

Egan Bernal is the winner of the 2019 Tour de France

Egan Bernal became the youngest rider in 110 years to win the Tour de France when he crossed the finish line on stage 21 in Paris. 



A Tour de France for the ages crowned a champion of an unusually young age on Sunday: 22-year-old Egan Bernal, South America’s first winner of cycling’s greatest race.



With the race leader not challenged on the final stage
Bernal became the first Colombian winner of the Le Tour de France.

He crossed the line in the peloton, hand-in-hand with his Ineos team-mate and last year’s winner Geraint Thomas, who finished second this time at the Champs-Elysees fittingly bathed in the yellow of a golden dusk.

Caleb Ewan won the traditional sprint finish on the Champs-Elysees in Paris on Sunday evening.


“I cannot believe it. It’s just incredible. I am sorry. I have no words,” Bernal said through a translator. “I still can’t understand what is happening to me.”


The youngest champion of the post-World War II era, the slightly built Colombian with a killer instinct on the road, proved to be the strongest of the 176 strong men who roared off from the start in Brussels, Belgium, on July 6 on their 3,366-kilometer (2,092-mile) of cycling’s greatest race of the world, odyssey that delivered the most absorbing, drama-packed Tour in decades and a new cycling superstar in the making: Bernal.

The partying fans' shirts were yellow, Colombians making themselves at home on the Champs-Elysees.

But the yellow that counted most was the iconic jersey that fit so snugly on the slim shoulders of Egan Bernal.

Györi Audi ETO KC wins the 2019 Women’s EHF Champions League for the third consecutive time

Hungarian Györi Audi ETO KC secured their third consecutive Women’s EHF Handball Champions League title with a 25:24 win versus Rostov-Don in the final on Sunday evening in Papp Laszlo Arena, Budapest, Hungary.


It was a highly expected final the one disputed at the Papp Laszlo Sportárena in Budapest between the defending champions Győri Audi ETO KC and Russian champions Rostov Don. Spanish coach Ambros Martin, now sitting on the bench of the girls in yellow, was probably the only one who knew every little secret from the Hungarian powerhouse.

The Hungarians kept a 4 goal distance until the 22nd minute of the last half, through Amorim’s 7th goal, which would be the last goal for her team until the very end of the match. Rostov came back. The last few minutes were frenetic, just like the beginning of the encounter.

It’s 24-25 and with 20” remaining, Danyi calls out the last timeout. “No shoot, keep the ball”, he would say to his players. Regardless of the instructions, Stine Oftedal bounced her way to the area and shot to goal from an uncomfortable angle. 11 seconds left and Rostov played that fast break, Lois Abbingh got a chance but Grimsbø stretched down and saved the shot with her right foot to unleash the celebrations for the defending champions. Amorim and Abbingh were top scorers of the match with 7 goals each.


Norwegian goalkeeper Kari Grimsbø earns the DELO WOMEN’S EHF FINAL4 MVP award after her performance in the final.
