How the new 2019 Formula 1 cars look

The top three teams of the last few years fo the world's Formula 1 championship – Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull – have each now released their 2019 F1 season cars. And what’s more, despite very significantly changed aerodynamic regulations, all three teams appear to have remained largely committed to their existing – and quite differing – racing car philosophies.

Teams are constantly in flux and invariably at different phases in their cycles of renewal, growth and success but what McLaren and Ferrari have in common is that neither have won a championship for over a decade.

    What's new for 2019?
The Formula 1 World champions Mercedes have retained the same long wheelbase of the last two years, the Red Bull remains the shortest of the ‘big three’ (along with the related Toro Rosso), with Ferrari somewhere in between their two rivals.

Red Bull, meanwhile, continue with their high-rake concept, an area where Ferrari errs more towards the Milton Keynes team than Mercedes.

Undefeated in a title fight since the start of F1's current turbo-hybrid era, Mercedes start the new year with one aim - becoming the first team in F1 history to win six consecutive drivers' and constructors' championship doubles with the new car, the W10.
