Brazil have won the 2019 Copa America

Brazil won a first Copa America title in 12 years, beating Peru 3-1. At the Maracana.

Gabriel Jesus scored one goal and assisted another before being sent off.
Jesus set up Everton to volley in the opener before scoring the decisive second goal of the 2019 final.

Paolo Guerrero had briefly given Peru hope when he equalised from the penalty spot minutes before Jesus struck.

Jesus was shown a second yellow with 20 minutes left but Richarlison's late penalty sealed the win for the host nation at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Brazil have won the Copa America on each of the 5 occasions they have hosted the tournament (1919, 1922, 1949, 1989 & 2019); they have lifted the trophy for the ninth time, after winning 5 of the last 9 tournaments (1997, 1999, 2004, 2007 & 2019).

It is the ninth time Brazil have won the Copa America and is their first tournament success since winning a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.
